Sinulog 2019

January 8, 2019
by: Grace Dakay

Good afternoon, all. In the Philippines 🇵🇭, the Feast of Santo Niño is celebrated in a lot of towns. Here in UK, may I invite you to two Sinulog celebrations.
On the 19th of  this month, Sinulog will be in St. George’s Cathedral at 1:45 pm, to be participated by several Filipino communities. Food will be served after the mass. Thank you to those who bought the tickets. Part of the proceeds is to shoulder the food expenses for this day.
Our own Sinulog celebration in Kingston will be on the 20th of January at 5:50pm. In Our Lady Immaculate in Tolworth.
Our Sinulog message for this year is Hope, Faith and Love in the Walks of our Lives.
For those who do not know, Sinulog is from the word sulog or river. According to tradition, an elder was found dancing with forward and backward steps like a river while bringing the image of the Child Jesus in celebration. Sinulog is a praise dance.
Hope to see you there.
Pit Senyor.
(  pit Senyor is a common chant while dancing the Sinulog, it means “ sangpit kay Senyor” or call on our Lord.
Thank you
